Project No. 5

This amazing project was a floor to ceiling gut job! A busy family purchased a fixer-upper in their dream location. The kitchen was originally located in the small isolated side portion of the home with low ceilings. We wanted the kitchen to not only be a dream space for the wife, who loves to cook, but also the center of family life and the hub of the home. Therefore, after studying the space and meeting with the architect, we designed a fabulous new kitchen on the opposite side of the home. We used the space that originally occupied the family room and blew out all of the adjacent walls to create a new family room that would flow and extend from the kitchen. The cabintry is all custom with built-in SubZero refrigeration, a 48" Thermador gas cooktop and a pair of Thermador wall ovens. The ten foot island houses the microwave and an abundance of large deep drawers for storage. The custom two toned metal hood was designed to merge the nickel and brass finishes throughout the house.  The lighting over the island is from Visual Comfort and the table chandelier is from Hudson Valley. The countertops and backsplash are quartz and the tile behind the hood is Sonoma Tile  Arabesque. Our favorite part, and "icing on the cake" is the fun yet super functional banquette with Scalamandre fabric.
